How can I help plant trees?
If you already had an account with us before February 13, 2026, you plant a tree from every 100 you spend. The total amount of trees you’ve helped plant will be visible with your weekly Payday. Starting from April 13, 2026, you’ll be able to help plant trees by spinning the Wheel of Fortune!
If you’ve joined us after February 13, 2026, you earn a spin with each payment that you make with your bunq Card. You can use your spins on the Wheel of Fortune. With each spin, you get a chance to win up to 100 trees.
For each tree you earn in the app, we fund the planting of a real tree through our trusted partner, Veritree. And to celebrate your incredible impact, every 100th tree you plant will appear as a Golden Tree in your app.

What types of trees do we plant?
We plant mangroves because one single mangrove tree can absorb an incredible 12.3 kg of CO2 every year. They are one of nature's best tools for combating climate change, as they also filter pollutants from water and create vital nurseries for marine life.
What is the impact of the trees that I’ve helped plant?
Your trees are making a difference in restoration projects in Mteza Creek and Tana Salt in southern Kenya. We've also completed several other projects in Kenya and Madagascar. These sites are chosen for their critical importance to the local environment and the communities they support.
Together, the bunq community has already funded the planting of over 30 million trees since 2019!
