Hey bunqers 🌈,
Your safety is our priority. We use strict security measures to verify the legitimacy of incoming and outgoing payments. In case a payment raises our suspicion, we will delay the processing of that payment as a standard security measure and notify you of the delay.
If we delay your outgoing payment, you have the opportunity to review the payment and cancel it from the bunq app if you never intended to send it. To do so, find the delayed payment in your bunq app and tap on ‘Cancel this Payment’. We will revert the payment and your balance will be restored.
What’s the reason for my payment to be delayed?
Possible reasons for us to delay a payment may be changes to your daily limit, logging in on a new device, accepting an invite to a Joint or Shared Account, or making a payment to a new counterparty for the first time or if the payment otherwise raised our suspicion and we’re taking the necessary steps to verify its legitimacy. For a complete overview of reasons why a payment may arrive later than you expect, see When will my payment arrive?.
What’s the estimated delivery date of my payment?
As with all payments in your bunq app, you can find the estimated delivery date in your bunq app:
Go to 🏠 Home
Tap on the Bank Account you’ve made the payment from or where you expect the payment to arrive.
Tap on the payment to see its description and the expected delivery date.
