Hey bunqers 🌈,
New to investing and don’t know where to start? Get inspired by seeing what your friends are trading across bunq to help you get started.
When you share which Stocks or Crypto trades you’re making with your friends, you get to see their trades in return. It’s a great way to stay up to date and learn together, without ever sharing sensitive financial details, like how much you trade.
Here’s how sharing trades with friends works 👇
What trading activity can I see?
When you open a Stocks or Crypto account, all of your trading activity is private by default. You’ll get a glimpse of what your friends are up to with anonymous trades displayed in your Stocks or Crypto Tab feeds. For example, you might see:
“1 friend and 22 others bought Bitcoin”.
Once you enable trade sharing, you’ll be able to see the specific stocks or crypto trades of any friends who also have trade sharing turned on. It’s the perfect way to share insights, without ever revealing the amounts invested or price paid.
How can I share my trades?
By default, all your investment activities are completely anonymous — nobody can see what you buy or sell. If you'd like to see what your friends are investing in and share your journey with them, you can easily enable trade sharing. This feature is entirely consent-based, you’re always in control.
To enable sharing, you can:
Go to the Stocks or Crypto tab in your bunq app.
Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner.
Toggle on See Friends’ Trades
That's it! Now, your bunq contacts can see which stock or crypto you've traded.
Who can see my trading activity?
When you enable sharing, your activity is only visible to contacts from your phone's contact list. You control which of your phone contacts you share with the bunq app. You can choose to share all, or only a selection of your phone’s contacts with the bunq app via your phone settings.
Your privacy comes first 🔒
We never share sensitive financial details. Your friends will see your username, public avatar, the name of the shares or crypto you bought or sold and an approximate timestamp. When trade sharing is on, your friends will never see:
The amount you invested
The price you paid
Any other personal financial information
How can I stop sharing my trades?
You are always in control and you can withdraw consent for sharing at any time. To disable sharing:
Go to the Stocks or Crypto tab in your bunq app.
Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner.
Toggle off See Friends’ Trades
Once you disable this, all your trades —past and present— are no longer shared with your friends. This also means you won’t be able to see your friends' trades anymore.
What happens to my past trades if I turn sharing off?
The moment you disable sharing, your entire trading history becomes anonymous again. Your friends will no longer see any of your previous trades.
