Types of payment event statuses
There are three types of payment event statuses:
Payment pending
When a card payment is made, it initially goes through a successful authorization process. This means that the amount for the transaction is approved and reserved for the cardholder. In this scenario, the cardholder is the end client who is making a purchase from you. However, even though the payment has been authorized, it is still in a pending state. This is because the amount has not yet been transferred to your Bank Account. It takes 7 days for the amount to be received successfully and appear in your Bank Account.
Payment received
After 7 days, the payment will be successfully received by you and visible in your Bank Account.
Refunded payment
You can always refund the desired amount to your client after the payment has been made and a refund was requested. The refund can be partial or full, depending on your agreement. Refunds are instant and when successful, a new refund event is created called “Refund successful”.
