Hey bunqers 🌈,
It was recently brought to our attention that fraudsters are publishing fake articles pretending to be bunq, across multiple websites in France.
Your safety is our top priority, so we wanted to share how you can recognize these scams and keep your accounts secure.
What’s the scam?
Fraudsters are pretending to be bunq through fake online articles across websites in France. They may look legitimate but contain false information to trick you into calling fraudulent phone numbers that have no connection to bunq.
We’ll never ask you to call us or ask for your credentials, magic links or personal info (like phone number, security code, card number, or IBAN) outside the bunq app.
How can I spot them?
You can spot these articles by their emphasis on calling the phone numbers they provide. They often mention a phone number several times, display it in bold or claim it’s the fastest way to reach our support team. That’s not how we work.
Here are some red flags to look out for to help you spot these fake articles:
Urging you to call us: the article provides a phone number asking you to call in order to reach Support.
Unusual requests: the article asks for sensitive information or urges you to take immediate action.
Poor design or language: fake articles often have poor design, spelling or grammatical errors.
Some examples of fake articles look like this:
