How do I win my payments back?
You earn spins each time you pay with your bunq card. Your bunq plan determines where you earn spins when you make payments. When you’re on:
bunq Free: you earn spins from bars and restaurants payments
bunq Core and bunq Pro: you earn spins from bars, restaurants, and groceries payments
bunq Elite: you earn spins from bars, restaurants, groceries and travel-related payments
You can use your spins on the Wheel of Fortune for a chance to win your payments back. Here’s how:
Make an eligible payment with your bunq card
Go to the Home Tab
Tap the Clover Icon 🍀 on the top-right of your screen to find your lucky Wheel of Fortune
Tap on Spin the Wheel
See if you won!
Your spins expire weekly so make sure to use them before Sunday, 23:59 of your Local Time.

No need to opt-in! Just spend with your bunq Card, spin the Wheel, and enjoy the rewards ✨
Where can I find my Wheel of Fortune?
It's easily accessible via the Clover Icon 🍀, located in the top-right corner of your Home Tab. Simply tap on it and start spinning to win your payments back!
What can I win?
Every spin gives you a chance to win:
💸 Cash Rewards: Win 10x, 1x, 0.5x, 0.25x, 0.1x, or 0.01x of your payment back, up to a maximum amount of €2,000 per payment
🌳 Plant Trees: Grow your forest with 1, 5, 10 or 100 trees
🎡 Bonus spin: 1 extra wheel spin to keep your momentum going
There’s no cap on the amount of rewards you can win. This means that the more you use your bunq Card, the more spins and chances to win you get.
How do I get extra spins?

What determines if I win or lose?
There are predefined winning times scheduled at specific times throughout the week, each linked to a particular reward. The first person to spin the Wheel after one of the winning time slots wins the corresponding reward.
Who’s eligible to play?
You have to meet the following conditions to be eligible for this promotion:
You’re 18 years old or older.
You have a Personal verified account with any of the available bunq Plans.
Where will I get my payout?
If you win a prize, you’ll get the money you won right away. We’ll pay it out through an immediate incoming payment from bunq to the bank account connected to your bunq Card.
What if I forget to spin the wheel?
No worries, we know life gets busy! To help you stay on top of your spins, we’ll display a red blinking dot on the Clover Icon in your Home Tab when your spins are about to expire.
When you see the red dot, make sure to spin the Wheel by Sunday, 23:59 of your Local Time for a chance to win your reward!

How do we keep it fair?
To keep the game fair for everyone, there’s no cap on the amount of spins you can earn or the amount of times you get to spin the Wheel of Fortune!
If we notice an abuse of the system, we reserve the right to change the winning times or set winning limits per user in order to keep a fair environment for all participating users. You can read more about it in our Terms&Conditions, which we’ll always link below the Spin the Wheel button on your Wheel of Fortune screen.
Why didn't I earn a spin?
Sometimes, a payment you’d expect to earn you a spin might not. And it all comes down to how businesses are categorized by their own bank. Mastercard assigns a special code to every business to identify its type, like: restaurants, bars, and supermarkets. A payment automatically earns a spin if the business is registered under one of the eligible categories.
Smaller shops, like your local corner store or an independent cafe, may not be registered under the correct category in Mastercard’s system. For example, your favourite bakery might be classified as a “General Retailer” instead of a “Supermarket.” When this happens, the payment isn’t recognized as eligible, and you won’t get a spin. This is determined directly by Mastercard’s system.
Our team is working on implementing a solution to better recognize payments from smaller retailers. In the meantime, sticking to larger, well-known merchants for your grocery and travel purchases will give you the best chance of earning spins every time.
I joined during the last promotion - what happens to my old spins?
With the previous promotion where you could win back your grocery payments, you needed to opt-in to earn spins. If you hadn't done that, your past payments weren't earning spins. Now, with the new Wheel of Fortune, you automatically earn spins for every eligible payment you make!
And don't worry, if you opted-in before, we've got you covered. We carried over your spins from January 15, 2026 — your last 4 weeks of payments. You'll have 2 weeks, until February 22, 2026, to use these carried-over spins before they expire, so be sure to spin the wheel before then. Happy spinning — we hope you win 🏆
