When a bunq account has been permanently closed by bunq, it can't be reopened. 

Closures for a security risk or irregular banking behavior follow legal obligations we have to meet as a European bank, and once a closure is permanent it can't be reversed. 

What can I still do?

1. Withdraw your remaining balance once it’s available. The moment your money’s ready for withdrawal, we’ll send you a notification to let you know. You can then: 

1. Open your bunq app

2. Tap Withdraw funds

3. View the total amount available

4. Tap Next

5. Enter the IBAN you'd like your money sent to

6. Tap Confirm Withdrawal

2. Export your statements. Your Annual Overview and Bank Account Statements are available to be exported from the app. Here’s how: 

1. Open your bunq app 

2. Tap Export statements

3. Select which statement you’d like to export

What if I think my account was closed by mistake?

We understand you may want to contest this decision. You can email support@bunq.com with any extra information or documents that help clarify how you used your account. Once your account is closed you can no longer use in-app chat, so email is the best way to reach us. Our team will take another look at any additional evidence or information you send our way.
