Why does the price differ when I check the cryptocurrency details and when I buy?

When buying cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, what you pay includes a spread. A spread is the difference between the buy price (what you pay when buying) and the sell price (what you’d get if you sold right away). This is standard across all retail crypto platforms.

This exists because of how markets work — just like with currency exchange or stock trading, there’s always a small gap between the highest price that buyers are willing to pay and the lowest price that sellers are asking for. The gap between these two prices is the spread.
