We’re introducing a simpler, more exciting way to get rewards for your everyday spending — the new Wheel of Fortune. This gives you the chance to win back your payments or earn trees every time you use your bunq Card. 

As we’re making room for the Wheel of Fortune, we’re phasing out bunq Points. Here’s what this means for you if you’re: 

• Joining bunq after February 12, 2026 — you’ll be able to use the Wheel of Fortune straight away. This means you won’t receive bunq Points on your payments. 

• Already a bunqer before February 12, 2026? You can keep earning bunq Points until April 13, 2026. After this date, you can continue earning exciting rewards with the Wheel of Fortune.

Got a stash of bunq Points which you’re ready to use? Awesome! You’ll have a full year to cash in all the points you’ve earned. You can redeem them at your own time — just be sure to use your Points before April 13, 2027!

Can I earn bunq Points?

It's no longer possible to earn bunq Points from April 13, 2026, but you can still use your existing points up until April 13, 2027.

How do I see how many bunq Points I have?

Your points balance and history are in the app:

1. Go to your Cards tab

2. Tap Points

Your balance and every point you've earned stay visible here until April 13, 2027. Points you don't redeem by that date expire.

How can I see available rewards?

1. Tap on Points in your Cards tab

2. Scroll to Rewards

3. Final rewards are shown in the app - that’s where you’ll always see the most up-to-date details

How can I claim my reward?

1. Go to your Cards tab 

2. Tap on Points

3. Select your rewards under Rewards

4. Tap on Claim and the required points will be deducted

How do the free plan rewards work? 

You can easily redeem your free month reward directly in the app - there are 2 types of plan rewards:

• Free 3 Months of Current Plan. When you redeem this reward, we deposit the value of your plan's cost into your bunq account.

• Free month of bunq Elite. When you redeem this reward, we set the subscription up for you at €0 for the reward period. Once the free period ends, the subscription stays active at the regular price. If you don't want to keep it, cancel before the free period is over.

Once claimed, we’ll send a payment with the value of your free months straight to your billing account. 

Why do I still get invoices for my bunq plan? 

Even if you’ve redeemed the Free 3 Months of Current Plan, you’ll still get your regular monthly invoices. No worries, we’re not charging you during your free months. Here’s how it works:

1. You claim the Free 3 Months of Current Plan reward in the app

2. We transfer a payment to your billing account, equal to the total value of the free months you’ve earned

3. Your invoices continue as usual, because the reward payment we send you covers them

Who could earn bunq Points?

Verified Personal and Business users on any of the available bunq plans who signed up before February 12, 2026 earned bunq Points until April 13, 2026.

For Business users, points were credited to the Business account, not to an individual Employee's account. If you have a Joint Account, points went to the cardholder who made the payment.
