Important Update on bunq Points and Airline Miles

We’re introducing a simpler, more exciting way to get rewards for your everyday spending with the new Wheel of Fortune. To make room for the new reward system, we’re phasing out the ability to earn new bunq Points. Here’s what this means for your bunq Points and Airline Miles. 

• Already a bunqer? 

You can keep earning bunq Points until April 13, 2026. You’ll then have one full year, until April 13, 2027 to spend all your earned points on rewards, including Airline Miles. After this date, your bunq Points will expire.

• Joining bunq after February 13, 2026? 

You’ll be able to use the new Wheel of Fortune straight away. This means you won’t receive bunq Points on your payments, and as such won’t be able to redeem Airline Miles.

How does it work?

Make payments with your bunq card, earn bunq Points, and exchange them into your favorite Airline with your Frequent Flyer Program – easy as that!

1. Go to your Cards tab

2. Tap on Points

3. Tap on Airline Miles under Rewards

4. Select which Airline you want to get Miles for

5. Enter your Frequent Flyer Membership number

6. Add amount of Miles you’d like to get

7. Tap on Claim

8. All done ✈️

Your miles are transferred to your Frequent Flyer account and will arrive within 1 business day of your claim.

Where can I check my Miles?

You can check your Miles straight in your Airline app.

Who can earn Airline Miles?

You have to meet the following conditions to be eligible for this promotion:

• You live in 🇳🇱 the Netherlands, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇫🇷France, 🇮🇪 Ireland or 🇪🇸 Spain

• You have an active bunq account with one of our bunq Free, Core, bunq Pro or bunq Elite plans

• The name in your bunq account and your Frequent Flyer Program match.

Why can't I exchange my Points to Miles?

• The minimum amount of bunq Points that can be converted to Airline Miles is 8,000 bunq Points. Make sure you have at least 8,000 bunq Points and try to redeem your Airline Miles Reward.

• You can only transfer your bunq Points to Airline Miles to your Frequent Flyer Program. Make sure your Frequent Flyer membership number is correct and matches your identification details in the bunq app

• Air France

• British Airways

• Iberia

• KLM

• Vueling

• How long does it take for the Miles to be credited to my Frequent Flyer Program account?
  It may take up to 24 hours for your Airline Miles to be credited.

• How does the conversion rate work?
  The bunq Points to Airline Miles conversion depends on the chosen Airlines.

  
  
  

• Why is the conversion rate 8:1?
  bunq Points are designed to be easy to earn — you get them for using your bunq card, sorting your salary, or inviting friends to join bunq. Since you can earn points quickly and use them for many types of rewards, the airline mile conversion rate is set at 8:1 to give you the best value for all rewards.

  
  
  

• Can I exchange my Miles or refund my points?
  Once the miles have been transferred, we can’t reimburse your bunq Points.

  
  
  

• When will more airlines like Lufthansa or Miles&More be available with bunq Points?
  We're working hard to continuously add more airlines as bunq Points rewards for you to enjoy. Have an airline in mind you’d like to be added next? You can submit your suggestion on our rewards page, simply:
