Make your bunq card uniquely yours! Add your favorite one-liner, choose a fun icon from our gallery, or draw your own from scratch.

How do I personalize my physical card?

  1. Go to the 🏠 Home tab

  2. Tap on 🟣 Add

  3. Tap on 🔵 Add Card

  4. Choose your card of preference

  5. Tap on Personalize card

  6. Draw, write or add a sticker to your card’s design

  7. Add your preferred name and description

  8. Done ✅

After you order your personalized card, the design will be reviewed by our partner Thales. If your design is approved, your card will be delivered within 10 business days.

Note: Personalization of your card won’t be visible in Apple or Google Pay.

Do I need to pay a fee to personalize my card?

There is a one time €9.99 fee to personalize your card. If you’re on bunq Core, Pro, or Elite and have already reached your limit of free physical cards, the standard €9.99 card fee also applies.

My design was rejected. What now?

Thales will review your card design within 48 hours of placing your order. If your design gets rejected you have the following options:

Redesign your card

You’re free to redesign your card by following these steps:

  1. Go to the 🏠 Home tab

  2. Tap on the card you just created

  3. Tap on Create New Drawing

  4. Redesign your card’s physical appearance

  5. Follow the rest of the flow

Cancel the card order

You can cancel your card order and receive a full refund immediately. Both the physical and virtual versions of the card will be canceled and removed from your overview. You can place a new order whenever you’re ready.

Do nothing

If you don’t take any action, you can still use the virtual version of your card (e.g., with Apple Pay or Google Pay). However, a physical card won’t be printed unless you submit a new design. A refund is only issued if you choose to cancel the order.

When might my card design be declined?

Please avoid the following elements - including them may result in your design not being approved.

  • Trademarks;

  • Advertising or promotional material, or branded products;

  • Celebrities, cartoons;

  • Personal data like phone numbers, PIN codes, account numbers etc;

  • Provocative, sexual, violent or other offensive content;

  • Nudity or semi nudity;

  • Profanity or obscenities;

  • Alcohol, tobacco, firearms;

  • Images which allow illegal or anti-social behavior;

  • Culturally insensitive images;

  • Images which display the opinions or beliefs of political, religious or socially unacceptable groups;

  • Images that may interfere with security features of the card.

How do I replace my card?

When the time for a replacement comes, you can choose to continue with your original design or create something fresh. Here’s how you can redesign your replacement card:

  1. Go to 🏠 Home

  2. Select the card you want a replacement for

  3. Go to ⚙️ Settings

  4. Tap on Replace Card

  5. Select Replace With New Design

  6. Follow the rest of the flow
