Hey bunqers 🌈,
Each time you make a payment, our Auto Round Up feature can automatically adjust the payment to the nearest whole number you've selected and set aside the spare change. This way, you can grow your savings or investments without any effort.
When enabled, all outgoing payments made with bunq, including those from Joint accounts, are rounded up to the nearest €1, $1, or £1. If you’d like to save even more, you can opt-in to the higher round-up amounts of: €2, $2, £2, or €5, $5, £5.
You can then decide where the difference between your payment and the rounded amount goes. Choose between automatically transferring the spare change to your Savings Account or put it to work for you by instructing an automatic weekly purchase of your preferred stock, ETF, or cryptocurrency.
For example, you make a payment at Albert Heijn for €19.4. You can choose to have the remaining 0.52 to be transferred to your Savings Account or you can instruct an automatic purchase of your selected stock, ETF, or cryptocurrency.

How does Auto Round Up work for my Crypto?
When you select to enable Auto Round Up, you instruct Kraken to automatically purchase your preferred cryptocurrency with your accumulated Auto Round Up funds. Let’s break down how this works.
If you decide to enable Auto Round Up for Crypto, every time you make a payment, we'll round it up and set your spare change aside in an internal bunq account. We’ll transfer this amount to Kraken, who will execute your instruction to purchase the selected cryptocurrency every Friday at 15:00 UTC with the accumulated amount from the week’s rounded up sum, at the market price.
The Crypto purchase, executed on your behalf by Kraken, is subject to the regular Crypto fees and spread. All Crypto services are provided by our Crypto partner, Kraken (Payward Europe Solutions Limited).
What are the risks of investing in Crypto?
Always consider the risks before investing in Crypto. Here’s what you should keep in mind:
Crypto prices move fast. The final price of your investment is locked in only after the trade is fully confirmed on the network, which takes place on Fridays at 15:00 UTC.
Since your instruction to purchase Crypto with Auto Round Up is executed every week automatically, your crypto balance can grow fast. Check your portfolio regularly to make sure that you’re comfortable with your total crypto investments.
Crypto investments aren’t covered by the Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
You can stop the Auto Round Up feature for Crypto at any time by disabling the Auto Round Up feature in your bunq App.
