What are my Foreign Currency Account's details?

Hey bunqers 🌈,

Here’s everything you need to know about receiving money to your Foreign Currency Account.

What are my Foreign Currency Account's details?

  • The Foreign Currency Account's IBAN is a UK IBAN

  • BIC/SWIFT code: TCCLGB3LXXX

For GBP accounts, you have Foreign Currency Account details in addition to your IBAN. If someone sends Pounds using these account details, it's processed as a Faster Payment (FPS), which is way faster and cheaper than a SWIFT payment. A Foreign Currency Account transfer in GBP arrives in seconds!

Now you can also do USD transfers faster than ever - find the ACH routing number for your USD account by following the easy steps explained here.

If someone is transferring to a bunq USD Foreign Account, they may require bunq’s U.S. address for USD payments:

  • Community Federal Savings Bank 5 Penn Plaza, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10001

Limits and bouncing fees for incoming payments

  • Limits: To keep Foreign Currency Account safe and available at all times, incoming transactions over £90.000,00 can't be processed and are returned to the sender.

  • Bounce fees: For an incoming payment that’s bounced, transaction costs may apply. These costs are deducted from the payment upon return

Can I receive all kinds of currency payments on my Foreign Currency Account?

Indeed! As of July 4, 2022 you can receive Euro payments and payments in different currencies to your Foreign Currency Account.

Receiving money in a Foreign Currency Account 🌍

You can receive payments directly in their own currency for example, receiving USD in your USD account. On top of that, you can also receive EUR payments to your foreign currency account. We’ll automatically convert the EUR into the account's currency for you through our partner, Currencycloud (based on Currencycloud's conversion rate for the day).

For example, if someone sends 10 EUR to your USD account, Currencycloud will convert it and we'll credit the payment to you in USD. Fees may apply.

Receiving money in a EUR Account 🇪🇺

Keep in mind: You can only receive EUR to your regular EUR accounts. So, if someone sends a foreign currency payment to your EUR account, their bank will need to convert it to EUR before sending it. If they send a foreign currency directly to your EUR account, the payment will bounce back.
