Resetting your Security Code

Hey bunqers 🌈,

If you're having trouble logging in into your bunq account, you can always try the following methods to troubleshoot and fix the issue fast!

Resetting your Security Code

If you've forgotten your Security Code, you can always reset it by following the “Forgot security code?” flow on your Login tab. Further information and easy steps can be found here.

Adding existing Personal or Business account

  1. Tap on your Profile in the top left corner

  2. Long-press on the Profile button

  3. Select More options

  4. Click on Add a User Account

  5. Follow the flow and add the account right away!

Logging in from a new device

  1. Open the bunq app 🌈

  2. Tap on Get Started

  3. Enter and confirm the phone number linked to your bunq account

  4. Enter your Security code

  5. Follow the re-identification instructions on your screen!

Changing contact details after logging back in

  1. Tap on your Profile in the top left corner

  2. Tap on Personal Information

  3. Change your email or phone number

  4. Select Done!

Pro tips 💡

When finishing your verification, make sure to follow the tips below 👇

  • Stay in a well-lit surrounding so the video is clear and your face is clearly visible.

  • Follow the steps on the screen carefully.

  • Hold your phone at the same level as your face while doing the verification.

  • Complete the verification on your own. There can’t be anyone holding your phone or be present in the background.

  • When you use your ID card, driver’s license or residence permit, be sure to upload a picture of the front and the back side of the card.

  • Make sure the document you are verifying with is up to date and not expired.

  • Make sure the document you're providing us with is an accepted one. More details about the documents we accept can be found here.

I've made too many unsuccessful re-verification attempts. What can I do now?

If you've made over 6 unsuccessful verification attempts when trying to log in from a new mobile device, you'll need to wait for 10 days from your last attempt before trying again.

In case you need to access your account urgently, please contact us through our Support Center so we can assist you further.
