When you decide to close your account, you actually deactivate it temporarily. This means that you can always easily reopen your account at any time and continue using our services. In the meantime, however, no money can be received or sent from your account.

How can I export a statement from my closed account?
Simply open the bunq app and enter your security code to enter your closed account. Once you login successfully you’ll see a screen confirming that your account is closed. From there, follow these easy steps:
Click on 🟠 Export Statement
Select Bank Account for export
Set the time Period
Choose the Format
Export the statement

If you want to unsubscribe from our email updates, you can simply follow these easy steps:
Go to your email
Click on the last marketing email you’ve received from us
Scroll to the bottom
Select Unsubscribe

If you want to disable the option of ever reactivating your account and close it permanently, please reach out to support and we'll take care of it for you. Please be aware that this means you'll never be able to access it again, such as for tax information, or other cases.
