Hey bunqers ๐,
At bunq we believe that transferring money should be easy, which is why we allow transfers through text messages or mail. Sometimes, you will still need to transfer money from an international account to a bunq account. In that case you'll need a BIC or Bank Identifier Code.
This is also referred to as a SWIFT code. With the BIC code, a bank outside of the SEPA region can identify that you're trying to make an international transfer to a bunq account.
The BIC/SWIFT code for our IBANs are as follows:
NL ๐ณ๐ฑ IBANs = BUNQNL2AXXX
DE ๐ฉ๐ช IBANs = BUNQDE82XXX
FR ๐ซ๐ท IBANs = BUNQFRP2XXX
ES ๐ช๐ธ IBANs = BUNQESM2XXX
IE ๐ฎ๐ช IBANs = BUNQIE22XXX
IT ๐ฎ๐น IBANs = BUNQITM2XXX
UK ๐ฌ๐ง IBANs = TCCLGB31XXX
What's a BIC/SWIFT code?
The SWIFT system is used to standardize international banking transactions through IBAN. Banks often use the bank identifier code (BIC) instead of the SWIFT code, however, the two are easily interchangeable. A BIC/SWIFT code is often needed when sending international transfers. You can find out more about them here.
Where can I find bunq's BIC/SWIFT code?
You can also conveniently locate our BIC/SWIFT code directly from your Accounts screen if you ever forget it. Simply:
On the ๐ Home screen, tap on a Bank Account
BIC/SWIFT code will be displayed below your IBAN
