Sometimes a third party—like a landlord, employer, or government agency—may ask you to provide documentation from your bank. We're here to help you get the documents you need, signed and stamped by bunq, quickly and easily.
What signed documents can bunq provide?
You can request the following documents from us:
Bank reference – Proof of ownership of your Personal or Business account. We can include your account balance, document number, or tax number if you request it.
Account closure statement – Proof that your user account has been permanently closed.
Bank Account closure statement – Proof that a specific Bank Account has been permanently closed.
Card ownership statement – Proof that you own an active card.
Card cancellation statement – Proof that your card has been permanently blocked or canceled.
Payment-related documents – Such as payment confirmations or rejected refund confirmations, when necessary.
If you need a different type of document—like pension documents or documents to receive benefits—please reach out to us with detailed information about what you need. We'll check if we can provide it for you.
Important: Any documents you send us must be pre-filled and signed by you before we can review and countersign them.
What documents can bunq NOT provide?
We cannot provide the following:
Modified bank statements – We cannot alter bank statements to show only incoming or only outgoing transactions, or make any other modifications. We can sign and stamp official statements, but not customize them.
Bank guarantees – We do not issue bank guarantee letters.

Who can request signed documents?
The availability of signed documents depends on your account status:
Bank reference – Available to every user with a fully verified Personal or Business account.
Account closure statement – Only available to users with permanently closed Personal or Business accounts.
Bank Account closure statement – Available to users with permanently closed Bank Accounts. Bank Accounts are permanently closed 60 days after closure, and cannot be reactivated after this period.
Card ownership statement – Available to users with an active card.
Card cancellation statement – Available to users with permanently blocked cards.
Documents for minors – Must be requested by the legal guardian(s) of the minor.
How do I request a signed document?
To request a signed and stamped document, reach out to us through our Support Center.
We'll usually send your document to the verified email address linked to your bunq account within 3 business days. If your request needs to be escalated to our Legal department, it may take a bit longer.
Is there a fee for signed documents?
No, this service is completely free. There's no charge for requesting signed documents from bunq.
Can I get the document in a different language?
Currently, we can only provide signed documents in English.
Can I receive a physical copy of the document?
We don't provide physical copies of documents. All signed documents are sent digitally to the verified email address associated with your bunq account. This ensures the security and privacy of your information.
