Availability for EEA citizens and residents

All citizens of the European Economic Area that are residents in the countries that we operate in (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden) can sign up for bunq. If you're not a European citizen but you live in one of the countries that we work in, please check which documents can be used to sign up.

In case you're a Politically Exposed Person, additional conditions may apply.

Some countries are connected to European Union (EU) countries but aren’t part of the EU themselves. Residents of these places - known as Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) - can’t open a bunq account:

Aruba (NL), Bonaire (NL), Curação (NL), French Polynesia (FR), French Southern and Antarctic Territories (FR), Greenland (DK), New Caledonia (FR), Saba (NL), Saint Barthélemy (FR), Saint Barthélemy (FR), Sint Eustatius (NL), Sint Maarten (NL), St. Pierre and Miquelon (FR), Wallis and Futuna Islands (FR).

You'll need permission from a legal guardian who will also need to have an account with us before you can start using your own.
