Currently, the Stocks feature is accessible to our verified users who are residents of 🇦🇹Austria, 🇧🇪 Belgium, 🇫🇷 France, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇮🇪 Ireland, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇱🇺Luxembourg, 🇳🇱 the Netherlands, 🇵🇹Portugal, 🇸🇰Slovakia, and 🇪🇸 Spain.

To start investing in stocks, you should first open a Stocks Account. To determine if you meet all the requirements to open a Stocks Account with us, review the information below.

Who can use bunq Stocks?

To use bunq Stocks and open a Stocks Account, you have to meet all of the following eligibility requirements:

Be 18 years old or older
Be a resident of 🇦🇹Austria, 🇧🇪 Belgium, 🇫🇷 France, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇮🇪 Ireland, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇱🇺Luxembourg, 🇳🇱 the Netherlands, 🇵🇹Portugal, 🇸🇰Slovakia or 🇪🇸 Spain, and have an active and verified Personal account
Be a part of the eligible nationalities list that our Ginmon partners accept - you can find the list further in the topic.

Note: Currently, we aren't able to provide stock trading services to our United States users. However, we are actively working on changing this and will notify you as soon as there are any updates or changes to this situation.

Which nationalities are eligible to use Stocks?

Our Ginmon partners have nationality restrictions that we must comply with. You can only use bunq Stocks if you hold the nationality of one of the following countries:

European Union countries

You can also use Stocks if you can provide a valid ID document or residence permit from an EU country, when you're a national of one of the following countries:

All you need to do in this case is contact our Support team and share your EU document with us. Once we verify it, Stocks will be available to you, as long as you meet our remaining eligibility criteria.

💡 Important note: MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive) regulations require us to collect the primary, or 1st priority, identification document for each new Stocks user. This means that in addition to holding an eligible nationality, we'll request a specific document type during your Stocks sign up. No worries if you don't know what the primary document type is for your country — we'll always guide you and ask for the correct document based on your nationality.
