Hey bunqers 🌈,

Travel Insurance is a crucial aspect of any trip, providing coverage and peace of mind in case of unexpected events. Thanks to our partnership with Qover, we can now provide you with Travel Insurance through the bunq app hassle-free. Whether you're a frequent traveler or planning a one-off trip, understanding these criteria can help ensure you're adequately protected during your travels.

For full details on Qover’s coverage and conditions, see full Terms and Conditions.

Who’s eligible?

Every bunq Elite user living in 🇳🇱 The Netherlands, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇫🇷 France, 🇪🇸 Spain, 🇮🇪 Ireland, 🇧🇪 Belgium or 🇮🇹 Italy are eligible for travel insurance when they book plane tickets, hotels or car rentals abroad.

However, there are several factors that will be taken into account for your insurance to be valid:

  • You must not be traveling against any medical advice;

  • You must be between 18 and 76 years old at the start of your trip;

  • You must use your bunq card to book either your plane tickets, hotels and car rentals;

  • You must comply with any requirements of the public transport carrier in its agreement to provide a service.

Is my family insured?

Your family is covered only when traveling with you and if they meet the eligibility criteria. Here's a quick breakdown:

Your Partner

Your partner is covered when travelling with you and if they're over 18 or under 76 years old at the start of your trip.

Your Children

Your kids are covered when travelling with you if, at the start of the trip, they're:

  • Under 19 years old, unmarried, living with you, and financially dependent on you.

  • Up to 25 years old, unmarried, in full-time education, and financially dependent on you.

Keep in mind: Minors who have Child Accounts can't have their own Travel Insurance. Instead, they are covered under their legal guardian's Travel Insurance when traveling together, as long as the minors meet the conditions specified above.

All insured family members must meet the general eligibility requirements of the Travel Insurance.

Can I use the insurance in my country of residence?

Some covers apply to trips within your country of residence provided that you are traveling at least 100 km from home or have pre-booked transport or accommodation.
