You automatically create Articles of Association when you register a company, such as a: - GmbH (limited liability company) - UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (mini-GmbH) Note: If your business is a sole proprietorship (Einzelunternehmen), you do NOT have Articles of Association.

How can I get the Articles of Association?

You receive the Articles of Association as part of your company formation process, usually:

- Drafted and notarized during incorporation

- Filed with the Handelsregister (Commercial Register)

If you’ve misplaced them, you can:

1. Request a copy from the notary who helped set up your company

2. Download them from the official Handelsregister
