A bank statement is an overview of all of the transactions you've made with your bunq account (IBAN) over a select period of time.

You may need one for the government when tax season rolls around, or even just to have for your own personal administration. You can also use the bank statement as proof of ownership because it'll show your full name and IBAN 📄

How do I export a statement?

Follow the steps below to export a bank statement:

1. Tap on your Profile in the top left corner

2. Select Accounting

3. Select Export Statement

4. Enter the Bank Account and time period you want the statement for and select your preferred format (PDF, CSV or MT940)

5. Tap on Export Statement

Note: Keep in mind that we won't be able to export a bank statement for you if your account is unverified. To export a statement, make sure to verify your account in just 5 minutes

How do I export a statement from a Bank Account?

You can also export a bank statement for a specific Bank Account through the Bank Account's settings! Simply follow these steps to do so:

1. Go to 🏠 Home

2. Select the Bank Account in question

3. Click on ⚙️ Settings

4. Click on 🟢 Export statement

5. Enter the time period you want the statement for and select your preferred format (PDF, CSV or MT940)

6. Tap on Export Statement

How do I export a statement on bunq Web?

Just follow these easy and fast steps:

1. Go to https://web.bunq.com

2. Click on the Bank Account

3. Go to ⚙️ Settings

4. Click on Export statement

5. Select date and format

6. Export

How do I export a statement for a Bank Account I've closed?

1. Go to your 🏠 Home tab

2. Go to Your Profile

3. Scroll down and tap on “Archive”

4. Tap on Bank Accounts

5. Select the Bank Account in question

6. Tap on 🟠 Export Statement

How do I export a statement with the payment's attachments?

If you've attached images to a payment event in the app, now (as of version 22.12) you can export a bank statement which contains the attached file! Want to include the attachments in the bank statement? Simply click on the “Include Attachments” toggle and export the statement afterward ✅

Keep in mind that this feature is applicable only for PDF statement exports, and currently the only attachments supported are images.

Can I get a signature or stamp on my bank statement?

Not on the statement you export yourself — those are generated automatically and carry no signature or stamp. If you need one, message us in Support in the app and we'll provide a signed and stamped statement for you.

Tell us the Bank Account and the exact period you need, and what the statement is for, so we get it right the first time.

Heads up: We can't make any adjustments to your bank statements. The signed statement we send over is identical in structure to the one you can export yourself in the app, because both are generated automatically from your payment history. That means we can't:

• Show only incoming or only outgoing payments

• Filter by a specific sender or recipient

• Remove individual transactions

• Change the layout, or add or remove any of the fields

What you can change, you change yourself before you export: the Bank Account, the time period, the format, the name that's displayed, and whether image attachments are included.

If you need proof of a single payment rather than a filtered statement, export a statement for a single transaction instead — it shows that one payment and nothing else.

Can I display my legal name differently on my bank statement?

Yes, you can! Just make sure to follow the simple steps explained here 🙌

Do you need a different statement?

• Annual statement with an overview of all your bunq IBANs for the previous year

• Statement for a single transaction is useful when you want proof of a single payment, without other transactions being shown on the same document

• Card statement for all payments that were done with one card during a certain period of time

• Relevé d'Identité Bancaire is a French statement of banking identity which you can export yourself from the bunq App, as long as your phone's default language is set to French.
