How can I get the Chamber of Commerce Excerpt?

Option 1: Online via Official Handelsregister

The easiest and fastest way is through the federal register

Here’s how to do it:

1. Go to the site and search your company name

2. Click your entry

3. Choose "Aktueller Ausdruck" (current extract) or "Chronologischer Ausdruck" (historical extract)

4. Download as PDF or request a certified version

5. Cost: Free for basic info, the PDF is enough for your onboarding

Option 2: Through your local amtsgericht

You can request it in person or by mail at the district court where your company is registered.

Option 3: Through a notary or legal service

Your notary or a commercial online provider can request and forward an official extract for you.

What is a Handelsregisterauszug?

A Handelsregisterauszug is an official extract from the Handelsregister (Commercial Register) in Germany. It contains legally relevant information about a business, including:

- Company name and address

- Legal form (e.g., GmbH, UG)

- Registration number

- Date of formation

- Shareholders and managing directors

- Capital amount (Stammkapital)
