How does Shared Access work?

Hey bunqers 🌈,

Shared Access lets anyone on a Personal bunq Core, Pro, or Elite plan share access to their Bank Account(s) with someone else, without making them account owners. Once the invitee accepts the invitation, they’ll be able to view transactions, make payments, add money to the account, and even connect their own card to it.

💡 Shared Access is designed for your Personal Accounts only, making it easy to manage money with a partner or friends. If you'd like to share access to your Business Account, use Access Levels to easily share the right access levels with your team.

How does Shared Access work?

To grant Shared Access to your regular Bank Account, you can:

  1. Go to the 🏠 Home Tab

  2. Select your Bank Account

  3. Tap on Shared Access

  4. Choose your buddy 🤝

  5. Tap on Invite

  6. All done

To grant Shared Access to your Savings Bank Account, you can:

  1. Go to your Savings Tab

  2. Select your Savings Bank Account

  3. Go to your account Settings in the top right corner

  4. Tap on Shared Access

  5. Choose your buddy 🤝

  6. Tap on Invite

  7. Access granted

Important note: To make shared finances clearer and more transparent, anyone you invite (or have invited) to share a Bank Account will see the complete transaction history of that account since the day it was created 🙌

What is the difference between a Joint account and Shared Access?

A Joint account is owned by multiple people, meaning the account is legally in all their names. With Shared Access, you stay the account owner while giving someone access to manage your account. They can use it, but they don’t legally own it.

How can I remove Shared Access?

To revoke Shared Access to your regular Bank Account simply:

  1. Go to your Home Tab

  2. Select your Bank Account

  3. Tap on Shared Access

  4. Select the person you’d like to remove from your Shared Access Account
