What happens if you don’t submit your TIN in time?

Hey bunqers 🌈,

A Tax Identification Number (TIN) is a personal number identifier issued by fiscal authorities in countries where you're a tax resident. Most banks require your TIN immediately, but we give you up to 90 days to submit it — making account set-up easy and stress-free!

Keep in mind: you'll need to provide your TIN for each country where you’re a tax resident, including the country you currently reside in.

Helpful tips 💡

  • If you’re a tax resident in more than one country, please provide a TIN for each country - this can include countries outside the EEA

  • Your TIN should contain only alphanumeric characters (no spaces or special characters like - / . )

  • A personal TIN is for individual tax purposes and is not the same as a business VAT number — for personal account please provide your personal TIN

What happens if you don’t submit your TIN in time?

If you miss the 90-day deadline, your account will be temporarily restricted until you provide your TIN and a valid required document showing your Tax Identification Number

You can upload this directly in the App or contact our Support Team via the secure, in-app Support chat.

How can I provide my Tax Identification Number (TIN)?

  1. Tap on your Profile in the top left corner

  2. Tap on the TIN event under "Activity"

  3. Provide us with the relevant proof of your TIN

If you wish to provide a new or additional Tax Identification Number (TIN), please contact our Support Center and make sure to attach the required proof of your updated TIN.

Your TIN: what it is and where to locate it

Name, format and how Tax Identification Number (TIN) is issued can vary by country. In some countries, a TIN is automatically issued at birth, when you register as a resident or when you register with the tax authority. Where you can find your TIN also depends on the country that issued it — it’s often shown on identity documents, official tax documents or government letters.

Wondering what is your TIN and where to find it? Check out the tips below 👇
