There are a couple of possible reasons why you might not see or not receive your MassInterest on your payout date. You can find more information and possible troubleshooting steps below:

Check that you have a bunq Savings Account open

To start earning MassInterest, you must open a bunq Savings Account - regular Bank Accounts can’t earn interest.

You can open a Savings Account by following these steps:

1. Go to the 💰Savings tab

2. Tap on Add an Extra Bank Account

3. Choose 🔵 Savings Account

4. Personalize it

5. Tap on Create

6. Done!

Check your Payday settings

You should automatically start earning MassInterest, received with your weekly Payday on your billing account. MassInterest from your Multi Currency Savings Accounts will be paid out to the oldest active Bank Account you have in the foreign currency.

Make sure you have your bunq Payday toggle enabled. If this toggle has been disabled, you won’t receive MassInterest.

You can check if your Payday toggle is enabled by following these steps:

1. Tap on your 👤Profile in the top left corner of your Home tab

2. Tap on ⚙️Settings

3. Scroll down and tap on Rewards

4. Check that the toggle is on for bunq Payday

See if you have to provide more verification documents

It’s possible that your account still needs to be verified and we’ve requested some documents from you in the app.

Be sure to check your Home Tab or your Profile for any awaiting events which may require you to provide extra information in order to fully verify your account.

See if your balance is able to generate €0.01

If the balance in your Savings Account isn’t able to generate at least €0.01 on a daily basis, we won’t be able to make a payout. Further information on the minimum funds you need to have in your Savings account can be found here.
