ATM fees

Hey bunqers 🌈,

For those occasions where paying by card isn't possible:

  • bunq Pro and bunq Elite users can make their first 6 ATM withdrawals per month for free, with the next 5 withdrawals for €0.99 each. After that, ATM withdrawals cost €2.99 each. Your free limit resets automatically at the start of every new billing cycle.

  • bunq Core users can make their first 5 ATM withdrawals for €0.99 each. After that, ATM withdrawals cost €2.99 each. Your free limit resets automatically at the start of every new billing cycle.

  • Each withdrawal will cost a fee of €2.99 for bunq Free users. Please note that withdrawals are only possible from ATMs supporting Apple Pay and Google Pay for bunq Free users.

Heads up: Your ATM withdrawal limits are calculated based on your monthly billing cycle, not the calendar month. Your billing month starts on your invoice date, the day of the month you first signed up or upgraded your plan, and resets on that same date each month.

You can easily check your next billing date in Your Plan section of Your Profile, so you always know exactly when your free withdrawals reset 🗓️

ATM fees

Besides the possible charge from bunq, ATMs can have their own fees. These fees can differ, depending on the policy of the ATMs bank. The ATM will give you a message on the screen to inform you about the amount of the withdrawal fee. It's always good to keep an eye on this before accepting the withdrawal.

Three top tips regarding ATMs

  1. Make sure that the ATM you want to use accepts Mastercard

  2. When withdrawing cash at foreign ATMs, always choose the local currency of the country you are in when the conversion options appear

  3. Safety first! Always check your surroundings at the ATM for any suspicious behavior and shield your PIN when you enter it

What about Credit Cards?

Our credit card users are able to use their cards at all ATMs around the globe and the only possible invoicing per ATM transaction is mentioned above. No hidden costs, no FX charges, no messing with you or your money.
