Hey bunqers 🌈,

Managing your savings should be simple — and accessing your money when you need it, even simpler. That's why we've designed our Savings Account to be flexible and user-friendly, while encouraging you to save for what matters most. This means there are 3 types of withdrawals from your Savings Account:

  • 💸 Free withdrawals — you get 2 free withdrawals per calendar month across your same-currency Personal Savings Accounts (and 2 more for Business Savings Accounts) to encourage you to save for that next vacation. This limit resets on the 1st of each month at 01:00 CET

  • 🎁 Free bonus withdrawal — once the same Savings Account has been active for over a year, you unlock a one free withdrawal each month, bringing your total free withdrawal limit to 3

  • Additional withdrawals for a fee — need to withdraw more from your Savings? You can always withdraw extra for an interest-repayment fee. The fee is always displayed in your bunq app before you confirm

How do withdrawals work for Foreign Currency Savings Accounts?

Your free withdrawals are counted separately for each currency you save in. So every currency you save in comes with its own 2 free withdrawals per month (3 once you've saved with bunq for over a year) for both Personal and Business Savings Accounts.

Is there a limit on how much I can withdraw per currency?

How do I unlock my free bonus withdrawal?

Once the same Savings Account has been active for over a year (counted from your first deposit into that account), you'll earn one extra free withdrawal per calendar month.

Good to know: the one year count is per Savings Account. This means that if you close or convert a Savings Account and open a new one, the 12-month period starts again for the new account.

How will I know if I get a Bonus Withdrawal?

Easy — no need to calculate or track any dates yourself! Once your Savings Account has been active for over a year, you'll get a notification letting you know that you now get one extra free Savings withdrawal per month.

How can I make additional withdrawals?

Need to make an additional withdrawal? We've all been there—you can always make extra withdrawals beyond our free withdrawal limit.

After you use all your free withdrawals, any additional withdrawals include an interest repayment fee. The repayment fee equals the total interest earned over your last 4 bunq Paydays. For every additional withdrawal after that, you repay the Payday interest earned between your previous withdrawal and current withdrawal.

We'll display the exact fee amount before you decide to make the additional withdrawal, so you'll always see the fee before making your decision. To make an additional withdrawal, simply:

  1. Go to the Savings tab

  2. Tap the orange Withdraw button

  3. Select the Savings Account you want to withdraw from

  4. Select the amount you want to withdraw

  5. Select the recipient (one of your accounts or another IBAN)

  6. The interest repayment fee will be shown on your screen—you can review the fee and decide whether you'd like to proceed with the withdrawal

  7. Tap Withdraw and you're all done!

Additionally to the withdrawn amount, you'll automatically receive a bunq invoice showing the interest repaid for your last 4 Paydays.

Please note: Making additional withdrawals for an interest repayment fee isn't currently possible for Foreign Currency Savings Accounts. If you need to make more withdrawals from your Foreign Currency Savings Account, please contact our Support - we're here to help you, 24/7
