Hey bunqers 🌈,
Sometimes, we need to confirm where you live, as part of a legal requirement for any European bank. That's why we may ask for a Proof of Residence — an official document showing your address. This simple check helps us protect you and keep your money safe.
Below we outline which documents we accept, what they need to show, how to send yours, and what happens if we ask to share it again.
Which documents are accepted as a proof of residence?
Everyone's situation is different, so we keep this as flexible as we can. You only need one document from the list of the documents we accept below. Just make sure to provide it as a clear picture or a PDF version of the complete, original document. Screenshots are not accepted.

How do I submit my proof of residence in the app?
You'll see an Action Needed pop-up in your Home tab when we request your Proof of Residence document. Uploading it is quick and easy:
Go to your Home tab
Tap on the Action Needed event
Follow the steps shared in the message and upload your document(s) 🚀
Can't find the notification or missed the event? No worries - our 24/7 Support team is always on hand to help you submit it.
I’ve already sent a document. Why do I need to send it again?
We'll only ask you to share your proof of residence again if your submitted document didn't meet some requirements. For example, if:
The document type isn't on our accepted list
The document is out of date
The document is blurry or unclear
The document was shared in a non-original format, like a screenshot
The document is incomplete, for example if pages or parts of pages are missing
What if I don’t have any of the documents listed above?
We'll only ask you for a document if we're legally required to do so. If you can't provide one of the accepted documents right now, we won't be able to finish verifying your account yet. As soon as you have one of the listed documents, we'll be happy to pick up where you left off. If you have questions in the meantime, reach out to us in the app.
Why do I need to provide Proof of Residence for my Company’s Director?
If you’re applying for a Business account, we may ask for proof of residence from the company's directors or ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) as part of our standard verification process. This confirms that they reside within the European Economic Area (EEA), helping to keep your business account secure and compliant.
The same documents listed above are accepted for directors.
