You can create and manage up to 25 bank accounts, each with a unique IBAN. This allows you to easily organize your finances, whether it’s for spending categories, savings goals, or business expenses. Each Bank Account can be personalized to make financial tracking simple and straightforward.

How to open a Bank Account?

Opening a Bank Account is quick and easy! Just click here or follow these simple steps to open a new Bank Account:

1. Open the 🏠 Home tab

2. Tap on Add an Extra Bank Account

3. Select your Payment Account type

4. Personalize your Bank Account

5. Choose Foreign Currency / Foreign IBAN (optional)

6. Tap on Create and all done!

Note: When you create a new Bank Account, we share this information with other banks a few times each day. Because of this, it might take a few hours before your new IBAN is fully recognized by other banks. Don’t worry - while you wait, you can still use iDEAL to top up your Bank Account instantly.

How can I personalize my Bank Account?

You can follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Open the 🏠 Home tab

2. Tap on your Bank Account

3. Tap on ⚙️ Settings

4. Choose Personalize Bank Account

And there you have it! All done and ready to start using your Bank Account 🚀

How many Bank Accounts are included in my plans?

25 Bank Accounts are included in bunq Pro and bunq Elite Personal and Business plans! For an additional fee, you can open more than 25 Bank Accounts. For more information on our prices, please take a look at our pricing doc 🌈

Keep in mind that Bank Accounts shared with you via Shared Access also count towards your limit.

With a Personal or Business bunq Core plan, you can have up to 5 Bank Accounts in any combination you prefer. With the bunq Free plan, you can have up to 3 Bank Accounts, choosing from a Bank Account, Savings Account, and Multi-currency Savings Account. More details about bunq Free can be found here.

Notification badge

When you receive a notification that requires your action, you'll be notified by a notification badge on your bunq app's icon and monetary account. The number will only increase with the new events that need your further action like payment requests, information required, etc.

How to manage your Bank Accounts?

When you open the bunq app, all Bank Accounts are displayed. If you want to change the order of your Bank Accounts, this can easily be done! Tap and hold the account and swipe it to another position.

With bunq Update 20 we introduced an Update for the Home tab and now you can create folders with your Bank Accounts. See more here

1. Go to https://web.bunq.com

2. Click on + Add Bank Account

3. Select Budget easily

Decided to share your account with a friend or family member? A Bank Account can be shared via Connect.

Want to hide your Bank Account balance?

You can hide your Bank Account balance by following these easy steps:

1. Open the 🏠 Home tab

2. Long-press on the Bank Account

3. Tap on View Options

4. Enable the Hide Balances toggle

You changed your mind and want to see the account balances again? Simply follow these steps:

1. Go to Home

2. Long-press on any Bank Account

3. Tap on View Options

4. Disable the Hide Balances toggle

How do I top-up my Bank Account?

Before making a payment, you should top-up your balance. There are lots of ways to do this. Follow this link to find out more here.

How do I transfer money between my Bank Accounts?

To make a payment between your Bank Accounts, just follow the steps below:

1. Go to the 🏠 Home tab and tap on Pay

2. Choose the amount

3. Click on Choose Recipient and select My Accounts

4. Select your other Bank Account

5. Check the details and confirm with Send Payment

How to close your Bank Account?

1. Open the 🏠 Home tab

2. Select your Bank Account

3. Tap on ⚙️ Settings

4. Tap on Close Bank Account

5. Tap on *Proceed**

You can always access your Closed Bank Accounts by following these steps:

1. Open the 🏠 Home tab

2. Tap on your Profile

3. Tap on Archive

4. Select Bank Accounts

5. Find your closed Bank Accounts here
