Fully integrate bunq with your local life in Spain, thanks to Spanish IBANs. From now on you can have your own Spanish IBAN and bank like a local in Spain 🇪🇸

Spanish IBANs are available for all bunqers residing in Spain, and to bunqers with a bunq Pro or bunq Elite plan residing anywhere across the EEA.

Heads up: We're not yet integrated with the Spanish Tax Authorities. Therefore, you can't receive your pension in your Foreign Spanish Bank Account at the moment.

How can I get a Spanish IBAN?

If you're new to bunq and live in Spain

1. Sign up for bunq

2. Verify your identity

3. Re-confirm your phone number and agree to the T&Cs

4. Your bunq account with your Spanish IBAN bank account is ready-to-go

Spanish IBANs are automatically set up on every plan we offer — including bunq Free, Core, Pro, Elite and bunq Pack — when you're a new bunqer signing up with a Spanish address.

If you're already using bunq and move to Spain

It's super simple to get a Spanish IBAN account, even if you already use bunq with Dutch IBAN accounts. First, update your address to keep your details up to date:

1. Go to Your Profile

2. Tap on Personal Information

3. Tap on Address and add your new Spanish address details

4. Save it

You'll then get a pop-up in your Home tab to obtain your new Spanish IBAN. Tap on the pop-up event and:

1. Tap on Get a Spanish IBAN

2. Done! You're a Spanish user now, and all your new Bank Accounts will automatically have Spanish IBANs

Good to know: if you have a Savings goal or Joint Account with a Dutch IBAN from before your switch, it keeps its original Dutch branch number. To get one with a Spanish IBAN, just open a new account the usual way.

What happens to my old IBANs?

Wondering what happens to your old IBANs? You're free to keep and use them as usual — they won't change! Just keep in mind that if you choose to go for a Spanish IBAN all your new sub-accounts will receive Spanish IBANs automatically.

What if I'm not a Spanish resident but I still want a Spanish IBAN?

So you don't live in Spain but want a Spanish IBAN? We've got you.

If you're on the bunq Pro or bunq Elite plan, you can easily add an International Bank Account and choose one with a Spanish IBAN! Here's how:

1. Go to your Home tab

2. Tap on Add an Extra Bank Account

3. Select a Personal Account

4. Choose a Spanish IBAN under Local Settings

5. Personalize your Bank Account and tap on Create
